Calling on potentials for the upcoming general elections on the Progressive National Party ticket; that is what a statement from the party executive does as it also gives the deadline as June 3, which is next week Friday.
National Chairman of the Party, Royal Robinson in a media release explained some of the requirements for those interested in offering. “All applicants must sign a pledge to support the successful standard-bearer and no one else, and must refrain from putting his/her name up as an independent candidate. The applicant must be a Turks and Caicos Islander who is registered on any part of the Register of Voters in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The applicant must also be registered as a member of one of the ten Progressive National Party’s Constituency Councils.”
Robinson adds that membership fees have to be paid up by deadline day.
When it comes to running for the constituency, that selection is made by the district’s council and all island candidates must be constituency members in good standing.
