TCI Cabinet with approvals, includes plan for new Provo Police HQ

A new Police Headquarters is closer in coming now that Cabinet has met and agreed to solicit proposals for a construction design.  Cabinet during last week’s meeting agreed to some ground breaking initiatives and changes which include the proposals for the Police Headquarters for Provo…..
Impacting the country’s #1 industry, Tourism, the establishment of a working group to review the Service Charge Ordinance.  The body of professionals including the Commissioner of Labour, Commissioner of Revenue, representatives of the Attorney General’s Chambers, Hotel and Tourism Association and three employee representatives namely Russell Garland, Penditer Hutchinson and Monet Collymore are mandated to, “…review the Service Charge Ordinance and the practices of the hotel and restaurant industry as it relates to the application of the management of service charges within the industry.”
Cabinet wants to see the work by the group completed within the next 4-6 weeks.
Also approved were a Donkey Sanctuary, a review of the Trade Unions Ordinance and a planning application from Fortis TCI for the relocation and placement of high voltage power transmission cables between Provo and North Caicos.
