Thirteen youngsters, though only 17 years old are on the voter register in a Qualifying Date Voter list issued by the Elections Office last week.

The 17 year olds will turn 18 within the year, and Elections Supervisor, Dudley Lewis confirmed that if these teens become legal adults before a general election is called, then they can vote as they are already registered. It is a landmark move for the TCI.

The youngest on the list will turn 18 by October 31, 2016. At least 500 more people were added to the Turks and Caicos current electors list.
