Providenciales, 09 Mar 2016 – Tomorrow is international Women’s day and in the Turks and Caicos there is a grand week of events planned to celebrate the women of the islands.
It begins tomorrow in North Caicos with a prayer breakfast for the women of North and Middle Caicos… a health fair is planned for Providenciales at the Gus Lightbourne Gym on Wednesday from 10am… in South Caicos there will be an inspiring young minds seminar featuring Teandrea Thomas and Leanna Brooks on Thursday… Grand Turk will host an awards dinner where the guest speaker is Aretha Graham-Caley on Friday and a cheerleading competition at Parade Ground on Saturday and then in Salt Cay, the women will be entertained and honored at a ceremony at the Community Center next week Tuesday.
The events were announced by the Department of Social Development and Gender Affairs within the Ministry of Home Affairs.
We are also reminded that the theme for International Women’s Day 2016 is “Pledge for Parity: Equality for Women; Progress for all”.
