Government workforce report

Providenciales, 08 Feb 2016 – TCIG’s workforce too is becoming more formidable in number and skill level; the Deputy Governor’s Office gave a year-end report where it was shared that at the end of December 2015 the Turks and Caicos Islands Civil Service had a total of 1,809 employees; this included 1,520 Established Staff and 289 Waged or Ancillary Staff.

The lion’s share of TCIG jobs continues to go to the education sector; 23% or 424 employees within the Civil Service work in education, while the Police accounted for 15% of the Civil sector or 276 employees.

Turks and Caicos Islanders account for 85% of the public sector jobs and 128 out of 152 of all filled managerial roles in the mainstream Civil Service are held by Belongers; this figure excludes Statutory Bodies and Good Governance Institutions.
