Hotel Association reports arrivals up, industry healthy, jobs better

Providenciales, 25 Jan 2016 – In 2015, the Caribbean Tourism Organization and the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association both reveal that there were nearly 27 million air arrivals to the region, that hotel rooms were able to be sold at slightly higher rates and that employment increased in the tourism industry by 10%.

Caribbean Jobs better says Hotel & Tourism Association Execs
In an early morning press conference Thursday (January 21), Frank Comito, CEO of the CHTA said 36% of hoteliers in the Caribbean have hired new people. Magnetic Media asked about the quality of those jobs.

“Our industry has changed dramatically and the challenge is to constantly get the word out on that. We are seeing incredible development the Caribbean Hotel Association Education Foundation.”

A new CHTA website will be launched in two weeks; not only will it provide statistical information to partners and members but it will be a knowledge center for best practices.
