Canada issues health notice, Zika baby born in USA

Providenciales, 19 Jan 2016 – The Public Health Agency of Canada has issued a formal notice to its citizens, pregnant women travelling to the region, with particular emphasis on South America – the warning is about the mosquito borne Zika virus.

The health agency in Canada explains in a posted notice that it is not advising against travel, but warning at the risk involved for pregnant women.

Zika is found to impact babies in the womb, in fact, the US now records its first baby born with Zika virus and the baby has Microcephely, or is born with an abnormally small head.

The mother was living in Brazil, and had Zika virus while there.

Canada says it has no cases of Zika recorded in country.
