Providenciales, 07 Dec 2015 – When the 12th Annual Conch Festival unraveled in Blue Hills at the Three Queen’s Restaurant, it featured the conch-e-tition where Olympic bound, Turks and Caicos Islander, Delano Williams was a guest judge. Delano said he never realized conch cuisine could get so creative.

“My first time experiencing the Conch Fest, I hope they invite me again next year. I got a chance to taste the cheese cake conch and the cashew conch, which was a surprise to me but let’s see what the judges think.”

About two dozen restaurants turned out under the big tent to see who would this year walk away with bragging rights as best of the best when it comes to delicious conch dishes.

The newly opened Pavilion Restaurant at the Somerset Resort won in the Specialty dish category with its sumptuous conch egg rolls and tantalizing sauce varieties… taking two number one spots, was Kalooki’s in Blue Hills – the beach front hot spot earned Best Conch Salad and Best Conch Chowder.

Winning the popularity contest, where the public decides on Best in Show was Mr. Grouper who debuted the yummy ‘conch drop’.

The Conch Festival also featured an appearance by Henry the Conch, the country’s official tourism mascot and performances by the Breezy Beach Dancers and the Island Boys.
