Providenciales, 20 Nov 2015 – If you have ever wondered what visitors think of the Turks and Caicos after their experience in the islands, then you will be pleased to hear of the statistics released by the Strategic Policy and Planning Department on exit surveys taken by tourists to the TCI.

The number one reason guests come to these islands is the beautiful beaches, 64.4% are impressed with that experience; 10.3% are drawn to the tropical climate while 8.6% are returning visitors who say they came back for more.

Shirlen Forbes, Acting Director of the SPPD said the results come from a collaborative effort of his office and the TCI Tourist Board. In addition to now knowing for certain the leading experience for visitors coming to the TCI, there, in the report is news on how visitors generally feel about tourism services, “very good” on most levels.

Disappointing were souvenir purchases, service from taxis and hired cars and the lack of night life.

Nonetheless, 32.1% would recommend the destination to friends and family and 26.5% learned about the Turk and Caicos via the internet.

Tourism is the country’s number one industry and according to TCI Tourist Board Director, Ralph Higgs it accounts for 35% of the GDP.
