Providenciales, 25 Nov 2015 – People can register to vote this weekend, on National Day of Thanksgiving holiday Friday at the Elections Offices in Provo and Grand Turk from 8am to 12:30pm and on the final day of voter registration for the new register, November 30 from 8am to midnight.
Elections Supervisor, Dudley Lewis yesterday informed Magnetic Media of the extraordinary hours for voter registration. Lewis also advised that while he welcomes the assistance groups are giving to potential voters, they are not dispatched by his office.
“That these bodies are not a part of the elections department although I welcome anyone who encourages persons to register.”
Add to this, going to these community groups and giving information for the registration application does not mean one is automatically on the elector’s list.
“…Once they go through these private parties and prepare their applications it does not mean they will get onto the system.”
