Conch Festival invites Delano Williams to taste in Conch-etition; Gramps Morgan in pre-show concert

Providenciales, 27 Nov 2015 – The Turks and Caicos Conch Festival is in its 12th year and no rain is going to stop the show says organizers of the Blue Hills event and reports are Delano Williams, superstar sprinter from the TCI is among this year’s tasting judges.

In fact, the fun begins tonight with a kick-off party at the Club Pillows courtyard where on the festival party line up is Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage. An after party is also planned for Zanzi on Saturday once the event at Three Queen’s winds down at 5pm.

The Conch Festival gets started at 11am Saturday with the ‘conch-etition’ which pits the island’s best chefs against each other and where the key categories are Best Conch Salad, Best Conch Chowder, Best Specialty Conch dish and Best in Show competition judged by a panel of experts to include future Olympian, Delano Williams.

A tasting fee of $25 gives Festival-goers a chance to sample all the dishes. In addition to the restaurants entered, there is a Best Home Kitchen conch dish award which is presented.

Over 25 restaurants are expected to compete for the cash prizes and bragging rights this year.
