Providenciales, 07 Oct 2015 – Local relief disaster agencies and nonprofit organizations are coming together to assist those affected by Hurricane Joaquin in the Bahamas.

The TCI Red Cross, Department of Disaster Management and Emergencies and the Adventist Development Relief Agency rolled out their agenda at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

Red Cross Director, Lormeka Williams said several fundraising activities are planned including a telethon and a concert.

The Red Cross is waiting a final damage assessment report from Bahamian authorities before collecting any goods. Williams said she will keep the public aware of when they can begin to make donations of canned goods and other items.
