Providenciales, 14 Oct 2015 – A restoration effort has been launched by the Department of Environment and Maritime Affairs and the TCI National Trust in commemoration of Migratory Bird Month.
Residents are encouraged to plant mangroves and mahogany trees. Add to this, there will be a Migratory Bird Festival which will highlight habitat restoration at the Wheeland Pond, a Primary School colouring competition and eco-walks.
The theme for Migratory Bird month is ‘Restore Habitat, Restore Birds.’ Schools and businesses which want to participate should contact DEMA or the Trust.
