Police give back to school safety ideas to Parents

Providenciales, 04 Sept 2015 – Safety tips from police this year focus on a combination of old school and new school advice as the new academic year rolls in. In the Turks and Caicos, Police are most concerned with road safety, smarter drivers and knowledgeable children.

The Royal Turks and Caicos Police asks motorists to keep the speed limit in school zones, be alert especially in residential areas as we drive and to reduce distractions like our addictive cell phones, once on the road.

Parents are encouraged to remind their children to never run out into the streets or cross in between parked cars, to always walk in front of the bus where the driver can see them and that it is still a good idea to rehearse with children their full name, address and phone number as well as walk with your children through the neighbourhood showing them places they can go in the event of an emergency; this includes a trusted neighbour or an open store.
