Providenciales, 11 Sept 2015 – At the Public Press Conference meeting in Grand Turk on Wednesday, Dr. Linda Williams, Governor appointed member to the House of Assembly (HOA) answered questions about the upgrade of the parade grounds in Grand Turk.

Dr. Williams mentioned that budget provisions have been made to upgrade many of the sporting facilities and currently Public Works is inspecting the site to determine whether restroom facilities can be built there or at the HJ Robinson High School property with an access gate. The gate would give access for full usage of the restrooms during evenings and on weekends.

Dr. Williams noted that the parade ground is entirely too small to have a proper 400m track. She said that work is underway to give Grand Turk its very own sporting facility.

Adding to the topic of upgrades underway, Dr. Williams assured the parents of Eliza Simons Primary that classrooms damaged during 2008’s Hurricane Ike would also be repaired.
