Providenciales, 28 Aug 2015 – By 5pm today, the outpatient services of the Cheshire Hall and Cockburn Town Medical centers will close, but the hospitals will remain open throughout the storm.

Public Relations Exec at the TCI Hospitals, Takara Bain assured that not only will key staff be onsite at both facilities from later today and throughout the storm, but that both the hospitals are built for Category five hurricane conditions.

There had been recent concern over the reliability of the generator at the Provo hospital, but Bain says there have been successful tests of the back-up systems. Pregnant mothers will be brought to the hospitals for safety and it was said there is an adequate stock of all supplies.

Yesterday would have been the final day for blood donations as Tropical Storm Erika approaches.
