Providenciales, 05 Aug 2015 – In the effort to put down feral dogs, residents’ pets are being euthanized – inadvertently – by the Animal Control Unit.

“I have received calls over the last few days of persons whose pets they can no longer locate and to urge all residents to ensure that they collar and tag their pets because if they are caught in the trap they are euthanized as a part of the Animal Control Policy. And so we don’t want to have anyone losing their beloved pets but you have to take responsibility in ensuring they are tagged properly and easily identified by you but also that they are able to remain within the confines of your property.”

Deputy Premier and Member for Long Bay and Leeward, Hon. Akierra Missick talked about issues impacting her district as she prepared for a community meeting, which was held last night at the Blue Haven Resort. DP Misick talked about other points to be presented at the community meeting.

“Items on the agenda, include Mr. Speaker, the discussion of the access point to the Leeward Palms back road. The meeting will also have discussions on our Community Policing strategies, updates on the development of the community parks within the communities…”
