Only months left to get on TCI General Elections list

Providenciales, 19 Aug 2015 – Turks and Caicos general elections will likely not happen until 2016 but if you do not register by November 2015, you will not be able to cast your votes on the selection of candidates.
Dudley Lewis is the Elections Supervisor, and since the fees to be able to register to vote are now waived, he has ‘amped’ up his promotion for new voters to get on the list.

He said: “Eligible voters on the present Register of Electors do not need to re-apply to be included in the 2016/17 Register. They will be automatically included unless they notify the elections office that they have changed their name or place of residence, or no longer meet the eligibility criteria.”

But for those newbies: including those who have moved to a different district, may have been released from prison or are just reaching the age of suffrage or voter eligibility you have only months to get onto the new voter register list.

“Persons who do not register before the qualifying date November 30th, 2015 will NOT be permitted to vote in the 2016 General Elections.”
