Providenciales, 27 Jul 2015 – It was postponed last Wednesday night, that public town hall meeting to discuss the proposal of a five story height increase for Provo.

The government says this move to increase building height and density to 12 storeys is to boost “economic benefit, job growth, and stimulation of the construction industry, auxiliary services and tourism related businesses.”

Originally, the Administration and Planning Department were soliciting electronic comments; that was criticized and our efforts to get an update on the feedback netted nothing. Now, the town hall meeting is again announced with a new date on Wednesday August 5 at the Gus Lightbourne Gym at 7pm.

Still there is that option to make a written representation in email at publicconsultation@gov.tc or you can drop off your view to the office of the Premier between 8am and 4:30pm.

As for how high the proposal wants to take the resort development and others in future; “the recommended building height increase is 12 stories (up to a maximum of 140 feet) as opposed to seven stories (up to a maximum of 90 feet).”
