Providenciales, 23 Jul 2015 – Bahamas Minister makes a House of Assembly contribution to raise minimum wage. Hon Shane Gibson announced that the PLP Administration wants to see salaries raised from a minimum of $150 per week to $210 per week; it’s a 40% increase which equates to $42 a day. Minister Gibson said: “I am advised that the recommended increase came about after extensive consultation with national, regional, and international experts in the area of industrial relations.” The new minimum wage in the Bahamas comes into force August 15.
