Providenciales, 24 Jun 2015 – The message called for reflection as a Believer in Christ and was delivered by opening night speaker Rev Dr Patrick Paul who is the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Churches for the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos.
Paul was expounding on the theme for the four day conclave which includes day and night time sessions and is being held at Community Fellowship Center under the theme ‘An Agency of Evangelism to the World.’
Over 100 delegates from The Bahamas landed in Provo yesterday and are being hosted at various resorts and residences; many are here for the first time.
Moderator for the evening Rev Bradley Handfield gave a warm welcome to the visitors who also hail from Haiti and the United States, citing that Providenciales is the World’s #1 Island… that got rousing applause from the home crowd and was reiterated for Opposition Leader Sharlene Robinson, who attended the service.
Hon Robinson congratulated the AG churches on its theme as a member of the TCI Baptist Union and encouraged the hearers to enjoy the pace of Provo with a challenge that all leave refreshed and rejuvenated.
The service also featured awards presentations to founding members of CFC including Alice Harvey and ministry by the Dominion Dancers.
It is the first time the 61st Biennial General Council is being held outside of the Bahamas.
