David Smith back in court, Warner allows extradition for 10 year sentence

Providenciales, 18 Jun 2015 – Attorneys for David Smith are still battling an extradition order that now has him facing 10 and not 30 years in US prison. Magistrate Clifton Warner today order that Smith, convicted of a Ponzi Scheme, be extradited to the US on the charge of money laundering but refused to do so on the charge of wire fraud, which carries the weightier 20 year sentence. The Observer Online is reporting that David Smith’s legal team of Oliver Smith and Kimone Tennant (Leys Smith law firm) will challenge the entire extradition. Smith, who is completed six years at Her Majesty’s Prison since January this year, appeared in court today.
