Providenciales, 29 May 2015 – A unique midday spectacle today as islanders and guests were awed by the sun halo which seemed to be a special treat for the Turks and Caicos. Magnetic Media got photos from Grand Turk and South Caicos and all across Providenciales from observers. While some were prepared to proclaim the advent of judgment day, called it a sign of the times or thanked God for such a beautiful, mystical creation… it was explained as high riding cirrus clouds in a glorious clash with the rays of a brilliant sun. It could be a sign that rain is coming or a sign that a storm is coming; but for at least two hours, the TCI got to enjoy the sun and its halo – up to news production time, storms and rain were kept at bay.
