Professional Referee Development Training Seminar

Freeport, Grand Bahama – Xcel Management Group International will be hosting a Professional Referee Development Training Seminar-Level I, on Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th, 2015 at Pelican Bay Hotel, Freeport,GB. The purpose of this seminar is to train persons, whether they have experience or not in the fundamentals and skills required to be a professional referee. These sessions will be presented by Mr. George Toliver- Associate VP of Referee Development NBA D-League and Mr Scott Bolnick Associate Director of Referee Development both men combined bring over 23 years of experience. This will be the first of 3 levels, geared towards equipping men and women in the Bahamas on how to call games at the Semi-Pro and Pro levels.

With talks already set in motion Xcel Management Group will hosts a unique event, along with the Summer Pro League to combine a week of basketball and culture in 2016. Therefore, this foundation of training will put Bahamians in position to have first hand experience at calling games at the required level. More information about this will be made at a later date.

Participants will get two full days of theory, starting from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm. and at night games will also be held to put in practice things they were taught. At the end of the sessions, they will also get a certificate of completion during the closing ceremony.
