South Caicos poised for boom says Member of Parliament

Providenciales, 25 Mar 2015 – East Bay resort opens in a few weeks according to South Caicos member, Hon Norman Saunders and the airport redevelopment on that island is expected to begin in a few months. All revealed later in the day when Saunders took the floor in his contribution to the budget communication delivered on Monday by Finance Minister, Hon Washington Misick.

There was also an update on the island, as the Member shared that the dock is complete, a few jobs have been created and the islanders there await improvement on the Regatta Village including a new wall and covering for the basketball court so youngsters are not forced to play in scorching heat or pouring rain. On a national level, the once Chief Minister commended the Tourism sector for its growth, and applauded the return of the Investment Unit which he anticipates will support small and medium business development among Islanders, but said he is convinced the Turks and Caicos can greatly improve on its market share in the financial services sector and that a policy must be crafted to level the playing field when it comes to TC Islanders securing, especially commercial land.
