Providenciales, 23 Feb 2015 – Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Opposition Leader Sharlene Robinson said for the first time the PAC will host a workshop to enhance reporting on the country’s finances by officers in the Ministry of Finance. The opening this morning will be carried on National Radio and among the topics over the two days are: The Importance of Good Governance; The Role Of Accounting Officers; The Roles of the National Audit Office, Public Accounts Committee, Internal Audit Department and the Audit Committee; PAC Hearings; How To Prepare for PAC Hearings; The Role of Parliament in Financial Oversight and Curbing Corruption. There will be a period for Feedback and Questions. The workshop will conclude with a mock hearing. This Public Accounts Committee workshop is funded by the Governor’s Office.
