Providenciales, 25 Feb 2015 – Premier Hon Dr. Rufus Ewing will attend the 26th Intercessional Meeting of CARICOM heads of Government in Nassau this week. Bahamas Prime Minister Rt. Hon Perry Christie is chairman of the convening which will take place at the Melia Resort on Cable Beach. There are a number of key issues on the table for the sessions including dialogue on the halt on the Dominican Republic’s membership in Caricom. This was stalled after the DR reversed the nationalities of Haitians born in the Dom Rep. Also on the agenda; the financing of a marijuana commission and reparations connected to genocide and slavery in the region. The Caricom Intercessional Meetings begin tomorrow.
