ENERGY COMMISSIONER SENT TO INVESTIGATE FUEL PRICES

Providenciales, 08 Jan 2014 – During Cabinet meeting today the Energy Commissioner was tasked to investigate why there is not a correlating decrease in fuel locally since prices are plummeting around the world. Cabinet Ministers concurring with residents sentiments on the matter and reportedly asking Malike Cummings to find out why.

This has been a hot button issue for residents for months now; but the situation is heating up as nearly five months after crude oil prices began to dip, the Turks and Caicos is not seeing much of a decrease. FortisTCI today released the latest fuel factor rate drop; from .02203 to now .02091; this is the largest decrease per gallon of the fuel factor rate for FortisTCI since the decrease trend started in August.
