Providenciales, 09 Dec 2014 – The numbers are rising for Dengue Fever and Chikungunya Virus in the Turks and Caicos. Still a very high incidence of Dengue and Chikungunya being reported in The Turks and Caicos with Dengue having 48 new cases for November alone and ChikV with 80 cases recorded for last month.

The TCI Hospitals say these figures only represent their tracking of suspected cases; the national numbers ought to come from the Ministry of Health and would likely project an even higher rate. It is unclear what is going on, but it is obvious the cases of these mosquito-borne illnesses are not under control and were greatly perpetuated by the flood waters of Tropical Storm Cristobal.
