HIV/AIDS CLIENTS AND WELFARE DEPARTMENT BENEFIT FROM BEACHES DONATIONS

Providenciales, 24 Dec 2014 – Over 5000 pieces of food items and toiletries from Beaches Turks and Caicos Team members; a record donation for the Share Your Christmas program.

Monet Collymore, Environmental Health & Safety Manager at Beaches Resort. “Today marks our second year of our Share Your Christmas (SYC) canned food drive. This year we received bigger than ever donations from our team members, team members were asked for the last 10 days to bring in any canned goods, any packaged goods, any toiletries. A lot of them went out and bought goods and took things which they had at home, but they came and they donated.”

Aldora Robinson, Director of the HIV Prevention unit said this is a wonderful show of non-discrimination. “That our program is working that people are being more aware of not only HIV, but the discriminative behaviors that sometimes come along with it; and showing a gesture like this, tells me that people are beginning to think positively.”

The food items will go to the HIV/Aids clients and families in the welfare program at the Ministry of Health and Human Services.
