Providenciales, 19 Nov 2014 – Nearly half of the House of Assembly has some relationship to telecommunications and broadcast media it seems… as at least six of the members in the house had to recuse themselves or excuse themselves when the governor’s appointed member, Hon John Philips brought his private members motion to the floor.

The Premier and his brother, Hon Goldray Ewing… (9:09-9:48) the Deputy Speaker and her nephew, the Hon George Lightbourne; Minister for Border Control Hon Donhue Gardiner and even back bencher, former Chief Minister Hon Norman Saunders all made some declaration that they would either sit out or leave the House as the Broadcasting Bill was debated.

Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon Robert Hall explained the succession of announcements underscores a need to revisit the clause in the Integrity Commission Ordinance.
