Recovery efforts underway in Grand Bahama crash

The Department of Civil Aviation advises that the Royal Bahamas Police Force has confirmed that recovery efforts are now underway for the nine souls aboard the US registered N17UF Gates Learjet which crashed while on final approach at Grand Bahama International Airport at approximately 5pm today.
The private aircraft, Model 35 A, carried the serial number 258, and was registered to Diplomat Aviation (Bahamas) Ltd. Police have also confirmed that the aircraft was utilized by Pastor Dr. Myles Munroe of Bahamas Faith Ministries. It is believed that Pastor Munroe, Pastor Richard Pinder and seven others, including a child, were passengers on that aircraft and that there are no survivors.
The Hon Glenys Hanna Martin, Minister of Transport will travel to Grand Bahama early on Monday with a team from the Department of Civil Aviation to begin on site investigations.
The Hon. Glenys Hanna Martin expressed her deepest sympathy to the family of Dr. Myles Munroe and to the families of the crash victims and promises that the full resources of the Department of Civil Aviation will be deployed in the investigation of this tragic accident.
