PREMIER DENIED PURCHASE OF NEW GOVERNMENT RIDE

Providenciales, 26 Nov 2014 – Media reports revealing that the Premier was not allowed to spend upwards of $80,000 on a new Chevy Suburban. The TCI Sun newspaper putting out the puns in this report where it is claimed the British brought the purchase to a screeching halt… that the brakes were put on the buy of the suburban which now sits in the showroom at Butterfield Motors.

This intervention may underscore some views that the government is experiencing a surplus partly because it is not as easy as it used to be to spend public money. An $18.4 million dollar surplus and landmark cash flow was reported upon last week in the House of Assembly by both the Premier and the Minister of Finance.

The article by the TCI Sun shared that the Premier will likely still be seen in this black colored, fully outfitted official ride instead of the current white Ford Explorer, as there is a process underway for his Office to lease the Suburban instead.
