Providenciales, 15 Oct 2014 – The Trial without jury repeal bill will be up for debate in the House of Assembly this morning when members convene in the Capital Grand Turk. This issue has been hotly rowed about in the public domain, contested in court and labelled ‘unconstitutional’ as the Constitutional Review Committee meetings moved through the islands… it will be presented by the Governor’s appointed member.

We may also get to hear today, some Opposition questions answered… there is one about so called changes in qualifications for teachers by the Ministry of Education. Another question is aimed at new UWI relationship with the Turks and Caicos and how much is being spent comparatively to college students’ tuition fees in the US and a call for procedures on cold cases, in particular unsolved murders, to be explained by the country’s Attorney General. Members begin their session at 10am.
