New Human Right Boards Appointed

Providenciales, 1 Oct 2014 – Nearly one week into the work of heading the critically important Human Rights board, which is now chaired by attorney Cheryl Astwood Tull. A changing of the guard so to speak as long serving Doreen Quelch Stubbs, also an attorney hands the reins on to Astwood Tull who is reported saying the priority of the board is to ensure everyone in the country is treated with dignity.

The Human Rights Board was named by the Governor, HE Peter Beckingham and the scope of work includes investigations into claims of infringements of rights and freedoms of individuals, naturally, according to the Constitution. Five others conclude the make-up, namely attorney Finbar Grant, Reverend Dr Julia Williams, Delores Wilson, a community worker; Bishop George Forbes and Reverend Alces Dor.
