Providenciales, 31 Oct 2014 – The Caribbean remains Ebola free and for the Minister of Health and Human Services, Portia Smith that is a good indication for confidence. During that opening of the Ebola Workshop yesterday; the Minister touted public and private sector partnership as being critical to the success of being Ebola Virus Disease or EVD ready.

Minister Smith explained that she is regular communication with regional counterparts too. No one wants it, but governments around the world agree we must prepare for it and it is costing TCIG an estimated $400,000 to curtail and contain and brace for EVD, Chikungunya and Dengue Fever.

The Gus Lightbourne Gym was the place for both discussion and demonstration yesterday… around 50 health workers were there. The workshop continues today in Grand Turk.
