Providenciales, 15 Oct 2014 – Cape Haitian is expected to be the site for signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Turks and Caicos and Haiti… coming from Border Control Minister during that Friday press conference.
Hon Don Hue Gardiner said the trip should happen in early November… recently the governor told Magnetic Media that this agreement will not ask Haiti to pay any bills or costs for remanding and repatriation of illegal migrants but it is more designed to put greater emphasis or pressure upon Haiti to see that these voyages are discouraged, altogether. Last fiscal year, the TCI spent in excess of 1.2 million dollars on repatriation.
