Providenciales – Images of the condition of some government schools on the opening week of the 2014-2015 academic year has spawned a movement in the TCI… PUBS, that’s the acronym for People United for Better Schools. It is now growing in momentum on Facebook and the mission statement is given as “This group is dedicated to helping our community provide a student-centered, well maintained and secure environment that provides the foundation where students can achieve their full potential through partnerships with home, school and community.
We will accomplish this by rejuvenating our schools so that each student can become a responsible, respectful, and contributing citizen in a pleasant environment that is conducive to learning. Magnetic Media photos taken the weekend before school started still drawing comments and now inspiring action it appears as the group, which up to broadcast time had 53 members announced that it would try to raise funds to assist the government schools.
