Providenciales – Better marketing, better public awareness, more assertive enrolment campaign, expanded course offering, improved information dissemination, intercampus fundraising and alumni involvement were some of the suggestions given to the board of governors of the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College when it held a public dialogue this morning at the Gus Lightbourne Gym.

This all comes ahead of a consultation programme which Bridgette Newman, member of that board, told MM will revolutionize education at the institution with focus on the physical structure, the quality of the programmes and education, whether there is good value for money and will prepare the institution to prepare college graduates for an independent Turks and Caicos.

This year the TCICC marks 20 years of existence… the session this morning revealed that Fortis TCI has agreed to support the electrical program and that there are 50 scholarships available for education at the community college every year, yet students are not applying and that each year there are scholarships unused due to a lack of interest.
