PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands (September 18, 2014) – The event of the summer is finally here, as the nine contestants of the 1st Annual Miss Teen Turks and Caicos competition prepare to showcase their personality, poise, finesse, grace and charm during three days of exciting activities that will conclude on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Williams Auditorium, Providenciales at 8:00PM.
The “flawless ladies,” as they are known: Davetria Robinson, Miss Teen East Caicos; Mary Fulford, Miss Teen Grand Turk; Mitiana Simons, Miss Teen Middle Caicos; Liéacha Smith, Miss Teen North Caicos; Joanna Previl, Miss Teen Parrot Cay; Alicia Duncanson, Miss Teen Pine Cay; Uxslene Andre, Miss Teen Providenciales; Shanaz Gardiner, Miss Teen Salt Cay; and Malique Ferrette, Miss Teen West Caicos have been training for two months and are all equally ready to wear the crown.
Organizers say they have put together a series of activities and events that they hope will leave a great lasting impression on attendees. According to Oehleo Higgs, President and Creative Director of the Miss Teen Turks and Caicos Organisation Inc. (MTTCO), “We hope to accomplish a production that is filled with drama, awe and excitement; similar to what we usually see when watching Miss Universe or Miss America on television. We want to audience to feel fully immersed in the experience as they cheer their favorite contestant along.”
This Saturday, September 20, 2014 the Miss Teen Turks and Caicos contestants will display their strength and fitness in the first ever “Wrightfully Fit’s Miss Teen Turks and Caicos Lifestyle and Fitness Competition” at Long Bay Beach (Shore Club) starting at 11:00AM. The winner of this non-judged, special category will be announced at the grand finale.
On Friday, September 26, 2014 all roads lead to the Bight’s Children Park as the Miss Teen Turks and Caicos Contestants join the Department of Youth Affairs for a Grand Motorcade. The general public is invited to join the contestants’ float and to bring their flags, rags and dress in their national colors. Motorcade starts at 10:00AM from the Miss Moonies Parking Lot in Long Bay.
Finally, on Saturday, September 27, 2014 the public is invited to attend the Miss Teen Turks and Caicos Final Competitions and Coronation Night as MTTCO presents, “Summer Solstice – The Hottest Day of Summer”. Hosted by the dynamic Angelourdes Toussaint and David Ellis, the night will see the nine radiant contestants vie in National Costume, Talent, Swimwear and Evening Gown Competitions before being cut to the Top 5, who will then move on to the Final Question.
Doors will open at 7:00PM for pre-entertainment, cocktail hour and red-carpet photos; the main event begins at 8:00PM with an explosive opening number.
