With the public’s cries still echoing about the financial pain inflicted by the recent increase and implementation of taxes, could we be seeing a roll-back in some of these taxes?
Minister of Finance, Hon. Washington Misick, in last Cabinet’s press briefing told media that as soon as a broad base alternative to Value Added Tax (VAT) is decided upon, that can service the country’s debts, there is a possibility that some of the current taxation measures may disappear.
The Minister was optimistic in the growth of the economy and says the Turks and Caicos Islands’ economy is at the bottom of an upturn.
