The nation’s young people have been busy voicing their views on social issues.

Under the moot, “Be it resolved that the most effective model for achieving zero infections and deaths is a change in behavior.” High schools from across the islands recently competed in the National HIV/AIDS Inter- High School Debate where the Weslyan Methodist High School emerged as winner.

Providenciales faced Grand Turk in another debate staged in recognition of Alcohol Awareness month. Teams from both Community Colleges presented arguments on the moot “Be it resolved alcoholism is an incurable disease.”

The day’s champion was Grand Turk.
