Government yesterday admitted to a 1.4 million deficit so far for the second quarter of this fiscal year, and despite the shortfall financially the PNP Administration told media it is better than was expected.

The information comes from a Second Quarter Financial Report from the Accountant General and the report will be passed to the House of Assembly for discussion before being released to the public.

Cabinet also apparently changing its mind on temporary freezes for gaming licenses as we learned that approval was granted for the processing of a gaming licenses for the Third Turtle Resort and Casino… no word though on when the actual permission will be given.

The freeze, instituted by the PNP Administration early in its tenure, was said to be temporary and decided as a good move in order to better regulate and assess the impact of the gaming industry.
