Magnetic Media caught up yesterday with the Director for the Overseas Territories in the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Dr. Peter Hayes who has been in the islands since Monday to meet with the country’s leaders.
Dr. Hayes said the key to a healthy economy is not taxes, because while taxes are necessary the solution lies in growing the economy. When questioned by MM, the director admitted that since his last visit he has not seen dramatic changes, but cautioned that it will take time for measures to reap success.
The FCO Director, who had just met with the Official Opposition PDM, also noted that his arrival in the islands had nothing to do with the AG’s resignation.
