This comes right after yesterday’s announcement of the resignation of Attorney General, Huw Shepheard, which is by the way, effective tomorrow November 1st and news that ex-Premier Michael Missick will be extradited from Brazil to the TCI.
The opposition leader is advising for countrymen to be patient and allow the law to take its course.
The AG’s resignation comes weeks after an ongoing verbal exchange between Shepheard and the PNP Administration which had escalated into a legal wrangle. The AG has also given notice of his intentions to file legal charges against the TCI government for reputational and other damages.
TCIG has informed that work will begin soon to find a substantive successor; until then Deputy Attorney General, Rhondalee Brathwaite Knowles will be sworn in as Acting Attorney General to ensure the work of the Chamber continues. Opposition leader Robinson said she believes this situation has the potential to be quite expensive for the Turks and Caicos.
