The government will meet today in the ninth sitting of the House of Assembly.

Among other things the house will continue the debate on the formation of a Constitutional Committee and the ‘writing-off’ of losses in public monies. Also, the government will lay on the table subsidiary legislations made in July 2013, as it regards the telecommunication taxation and the amendment made to the customs legislation which saw an increase in import duty on fuel.

They are working toward an October 1st start for each of these new taxes which would increase fuel at the pumps and raise the price of incoming international calls to the Turks and Caicos.
