Turks and Caicos Islands, September 10,2013 – Government to undertake huge investments… In last week’s 8th sitting of the house of assembly the premier though still stirred by the recent ‘repo’ act by the government in repossessing the party’s headquarters, Progressive House; Dr Rufus Ewing informed the house members of three major investments namely a phase 2 on the Providenciales Airport expansion, the Caicos Causeway and the East Caicos Mega Port and Resort Facility. The infrastructures, which the Premier himself deemed as ‘life-changing’ are said to ‘spin off’ prosperity and sustainability to the TCI. Premier Ewing was also sure to highlight that despite the hiccups faced by the economy in recent times the tourism industry continues to thrive.
