AG vs Trade Winds may see 75% cost back to TCIG
The attorney general is entitled to get 75% of costs back in the appeal case concerning Trade Winds Industries, the owners of the conch farm.
Trade Winds was livid when a when a multi-million dollar deal fell through, allegedly because of sluggishness on the part of the governor and interim government.
The claim and other matters connected to the conch farm have been seeing a lot of the court room, and this latest loss will be expensive as the acting AG, Rhondalee Braithwaite Knowles said: The costs in respect of the appeal we are seeking to recover from Trade Winds are substantial and I very much hope that Trade Winds will pay them as quickly as possible. multi-million dollar deal fell through, allegedly because of sluggishness on the part of the governor and interim government.
The AG is also hoping the costs paid by Trade Winds will retroactively impact the case from its inception in August 2012. Mrs Knowles said these proceedings against the governor and the government, should never have been brought and will continue to be vigorously defended.
