Bishop Clarence Williams, accused of ‘indecent assault’ by TCI Police claims innocence in a statement obtained by Magnetic Media

#Providenciales, September 10, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – Full Statement:  I give this public statement to uphold the constitutional right to profess innocence and demonstrate as Bishop of High Order and Servant of God that the authorities in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos have based charges upon false allegations from a man with no moral fibre in his body and previous convictions for dishonesty and bodily assault.

I have served God in the Ministry as Bishop for The Church of God of Prophecy for the God-fearing people of the Turks and Caicos Islands with values based upon sound Christian culture, principles and been tolerant of other religions and ethnicities for my whole life. I give Christian forgiveness to the false alleger but I believe in speaking truth as power, I am directed by the Bible. I express my innocence. I have an innocent, clean reputation with no previous convictions I will be entering a not guilty pleas for the charges set against me.

The credibility of the accuser is suspect, he is of bad character. He is not a stranger to the criminal justice process and has broken the law on many occasions. He has three times been involved with the police. He has antecedents/previous convictions for dishonesty offences. He is making these charges against me for the purposes of blackmail he had asked for money but I had declined, so he said he was: “going to get me”. He is attempting to bribe me for the purpose of an attempt at extortion of money. Now due to not giving money to him he is trying to ruin my reputation. On the Day I appeared in Court on Wednesday 4th September, my accuser was also in court answering to another dishonesty offence.

Through my work I have affirmed the intention to: maintain the highest standards of integrity to guide people in their daily living; commit to the democratic values of a just and humane society pursuing dignity, prosperity, equality, love, justice, peace and freedom for all and protect their posterity through sharing faith. It has been my life’s mission and desires to inform and educate the congregation of the important issues of today. As an advocate of education, I have worked with the edification of the community to find solutions to problems in the system as my purpose. As a faithful servant and good steward, the Lord gave me a vision to help the people of Turks and Caicos. I have for the long years in my tenure as Bishop in Turks and Caicos and Senior Pastor in Nassau the Bahamas, acted as a Marriage Officer, Chartered Accountant, Notary Public, Justice of the Peace and Trained Christian Counselor.  During this work I have spared lives from evil, to prevent the vulnerable from falling into the perils of drug abuse, criminal activities and other destructive behaviours that will not enhance the Kingdom of God and our beloved Islands of Turks and Caicos. I have forever strived to lead by example with a kind, compassionate and giving spirit.

Based upon advice from Legal Counsel and Attorneys I did not make a statement to the authorities initially and I put faith ahead and trust in God to spare me from the perils of evil that have been the false allegations.  I want to set the record straight; I am innocent of all charges.

I wish for your trusted support and continued prayers.
