SPECIAL WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY AT 5:30PM EDT MONDAY 9TH JULY 2018

DDME Advises;
According to information received from the Bahamas Meteorological Office, the TCI is likely to experience showers and thunder storms, possible heavy downpours tomorrow as remnants of Beryl passes over or in the vicinity of the TCI.

#Nassau, July 9, 2018 – Bahamas – THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY IS MONITORING AN AREA OF DISTURBED WEATHER ASSOCIATED WITH THE REMNANTS OF BERYL.

*UPPER LEVEL CONDITIONS REMAIN UNFAVORABLE DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO BUT ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS ARE FORECAST TO BECOME A LITTLE MORE CONDUCIVE FOR REGENERATION ON WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY WHEN THE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO TURN NORTHWARD NEAR THE BAHAMAS.*

WHETHER THE SYSTEM REGENERATES OR NOT RESIDENTS IN THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS AND THE SOUTHEAST BAHAMAS WHICH INCLUDES INAGUA, MAYAGUANA, LONG CAY, ACKLINS AND CROOKED ISLAND COULD EXPERIENCE FLOODING AS LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS AND GUSTY WINDS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE MENTIONED ISLANDS DURING THE NEXT TWO DAYS.

*RESIDENTS IN THESE ISLANDS SHOULD TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO PROTECT THEIR PROPERTIES AGAINST FLOODING AND GUSTY WINDS DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO.*
